Hello Sailor To Open Early November
NEWSFLASH!! Heard from the Staff at Kindred-- Hello, Sailor----Anticipated opening date in Early November!!!
The closing of the Rusty Rudder last year was a shock to the entire Lake Norman Waterfront community. "The Rudder" had become the gathering place for boaters and community members for many years, and became the obvious choice for a quick, fun lunch while out boating on the lake. The re-opening of a new restaurant, Hello, Sailor, which will occupy the building of the Rusty Rudder has been anxiously awaited by entire Cornelius community.
The closing of the Rusty Rudder had compelled Eater.com to name Hello, Sailor as one of “the most anticipated restaurant openings of 2017.”
Joe and Katy Kindred, the owners of Hello, Sailor operate Kindred in Davidson, which has been open since 2015.
Hello, Sailor's location is situated on the shores of Lake Norman. You will be sure to enjoy beautiful lake views and even catch the sunset with dinner. The 4,000 square foot restaurant space will feature inside seating for 70 guests and outside multi level decks. Hello, Sailor will also feature 20 boat slips for a convenient docking spot for those arriving by water.
Hello, Sailor is a great name for this waterfront restaurant. According to legend, the restaurant name was inspired by a nautical tattoo. Reports have stated the menu, like Kindred in Davidson, will feature local, quality ingredients. Items like fresh seafood, burgers, ribs, and sandwiches will be on the menu at Hello, Sailor.
Reports state that Hello Sailor will have a tiki bar outside and will offer guests frozen mixed drinks, beer on tap and wine by the bottle and glass. The inside of Hello, Sailor, is to keep things modern, with bright colors and a resort like atmosphere.
According to a previous interview "The goal of Hello, Sailor is to be a place for everyone, not just the lake crowd. Being a family of 5 themselves, the Kindred’s welcome families with kids to come out and enjoy dinner at their new restaurant. Joe and Katy knew they wanted a place that all types of patrons would enjoy year round."
